The Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) program stresses the understanding and analysis of risks and exposures. Complete any five of the nine courses and pass the five exams within three calendar years of passing the first exam. For example: If you pass your first CISR exam in June 2023, you must pass five exams by December 31, 2026.

CISR courses are offered in convenient locations throughout the state. One-day sessions offer minimal time away from the office and the low fee includes tuition, class notebook, lunch and refreshments.
 
CISR ELIGIBILITY

Designed for producers, CSRs, account executives and other insurance professionals. Anyone may attend classes without taking the exam.

CISR EXAM

IN-PERSON COURSES
CISR exams must be taken online through the PROfile page. For participants who want to take the exam the day of the course, MAIA will proctor the exam immediately following the course, but participants must provide their own equipment to take the exam. The exam can also be taken online until Thursday at 11:59 p.m. the week following the class, but will require a disinterested third party to proctor the exam. For more information on selecting a proctor and taking the online exam, visit scic.com/proctor-monitor-rules. If you need assistance, the exam help inbox (examhelp@riskeducation.org) is monitored during normal business hours 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. CT.

LIVE WEBINAR COURSES
The exam window for CISR webinar courses will begin immediately after the course concludes through the following Thursday at 11:59 p.m. CT. You will need a disinterested third party to proctor the exam. For more information on selecting a proctor and taking the online exam, visit scic.com/proctor-monitor-rules. CISR RETENTION

The designation is awarded by officials of the Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives. To keep your designation, you must update each year with annual continuing education courses offered by The Alliance. 


CISR ELITE: THE NEXT STEP

To earn your CISR Elite status, you must attend and pass all nine CISR courses. You must pass the additional four CISR courses within three calendar years.

OUTSTANDING CSR OF THE YEAR

2025 Form coming soon!

The Outstanding CSR of the Year award is given to an exceptional insurance professional who has distinguished themselves through their commitment and contributions to the industry. Nominate a deserving individual to be the "Outstanding CSR of the Year." The competition deadline is May 1. Nominees must submit a completed entry form along with an essay to their licensed state association. 

 
Risk and Insurance Education Alliance

Your PROfile displays all of your National Alliance professional education information including: Alliance member #, when your next update is due, membership dues status, CE certificate, course history, new program offerings, contact and login information, and suggested reading materials. Please note that it will take 4-6 weeks for your attendance to be reflected on your PROfile.
